Where Twilight Meets Horsepower - Precision Craftsmanship for Your Drive

Look, We're Straight Shooters Here

Alright, so nobody actually reads these things, but we're gonna keep it real with ya. We're just a crew of gearheads running an auto shop in Vancouver, not some massive corporation trying to sell your data to whoever's buying. When you bring your ride to Dusk Harbinger, we collect some info - but only what we actually need to fix your car and keep things running smooth.

This policy was last updated on October 24, 2025. If we change anything major, we'll let you know - probably when you swing by for an oil change or something.

What Info We Actually Collect

When you book an appointment or bring your vehicle in, we're gonna need the basics - your name, phone number, email, and obviously details about your car (make, model, VIN, that sort of thing). We keep service records too, 'cause it helps us remember what we did last time and catch any recurring issues.

If you call us or send an email, yeah, we keep those records. Same goes for any photos we take of your ride - whether it's documenting damage before we start work or showing off that sick custom exhaust we just installed. Sometimes we snap pics of diagnostic screens or issue areas to keep track of what's going on under the hood.

Our website might use cookies - pretty standard stuff that helps us see what pages people actually look at. We're not tracking your every move across the internet though, promise.

How We Use Your Stuff

Pretty straightforward here - we use your info to actually do the work you're paying us for. Scheduling appointments, ordering parts, calling you when your car's ready, sending invoices, that kinda thing. We're not selling your data or spamming you with junk mail.

Occasionally we might send you a reminder about maintenance that's due, or let you know about a special we're running on services you've used before. If that bugs you, just tell us to stop - we won't get offended.

Your service history stays with us so we can track warranty work, catch patterns (like "hey, this is the third time you've had this issue"), and generally provide better service. We've been doing this long enough to know that good records make the difference between a quick fix and a recurring headache.

Who Else Sees This Info

We're not in the business of sharing your personal stuff around, but there's a few situations where we gotta pass things along. If we need to order parts for your specific vehicle, the supplier's gonna need some details. Insurance claims? Yeah, we'll need to send them documentation and photos of the work we did.

Sometimes manufacturers need info for warranty claims or recalls - that's just part of how the auto industry works. And obviously, if there's some legal requirement or court order, we're gonna comply with that.

We use normal business services like accounting software, email providers, that sort of thing. They've got their own privacy policies, but we're not intentionally handing your data over to anyone sketchy.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We keep your info locked down as best we can. Physical records are in a secure area at the shop, and digital stuff's password-protected. We're not careless with this - your trust matters to us, and we take that seriously.

That said, we're a small operation, not Fort Knox. We do our best with reasonable security measures, but no system's 100% bulletproof. We stay up-to-date on basic cybersecurity stuff and use common sense - that's about all any shop our size can promise.

Your Rights & Choices

You've got rights when it comes to your personal info. Wanna see what we've got on file? Just ask. Think something's wrong? We'll fix it. Want us to delete everything (assuming you're not a current customer with ongoing warranty stuff)? We can probably do that too.

If you don't want marketing emails or texts, opt out - there's usually an unsubscribe link, or just reply and tell us to knock it off. We're not gonna be weird about it.

For anything privacy-related, shoot us an email at info@duskharbingerx.info or call (604) 555-8947. We'll get back to you way faster than some automated corporate system would.

How Long We Keep Stuff

Service records? We hang onto those for several years - it's partly legal requirement for warranty and liability purposes, partly just good business practice. You never know when someone's gonna come back with a question about work we did three years ago.

Financial records stick around for at least seven years because that's what the tax folks require. Once stuff's outlived its usefulness and we're not legally required to keep it anymore, we'll get rid of it properly.

Terms of Service

Alright, here's the deal with how we work. When you bring your car in, you're authorizing us to perform the services we discuss and agree on. We'll give you an estimate before we start any major work - if we find additional issues while we're in there, we'll call you before proceeding.

Payment's due when the work's done, unless we've arranged something different beforehand. We accept cash, credit cards, and e-transfer. If you're doing major restoration work or custom builds, we might ask for a deposit upfront - that's normal for bigger projects.

We stand behind our work. Parts and labor come with warranties - the specific terms depend on what we're doing and what parts we're using. Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable. If something goes wrong with work we just did, bring it back and we'll make it right.

Now, here's the reality check - we work on performance vehicles and do custom modifications. If you're asking us to tune your ECU or install aftermarket parts, understand that these modifications might affect your vehicle warranty or emissions compliance. We'll be upfront about the risks, but ultimately it's your car and your decision.

If you leave your car with us, we'll take reasonable care of it, but we're not responsible for stuff that's outside our control - theft, natural disasters, that sort of thing. We've got insurance for the major stuff, but don't leave valuables in your car when you drop it off.

Sometimes cars sit longer than expected - parts get backordered, we find unexpected issues, whatever. We'll keep you in the loop. If your car's been sitting here completed for more than two weeks after we've told you it's ready, we might charge a storage fee. That's rare, but we've gotta mention it.

Canadian Privacy Laws

We're based in Vancouver, BC, so we follow Canadian federal privacy laws (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's privacy legislation. That means we've got legal obligations about how we collect, use, and protect your personal info - which honestly aligns with how we'd handle things anyway.

If you've got concerns about how we're handling your data and talking to us directly doesn't resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. But seriously, just talk to us first - we're reasonable people.

Updates to This Policy

We might update this privacy policy from time to time - usually because laws change or we add new services. Major changes, we'll let you know about. Minor tweaks, we'll just update the date at the bottom and post the new version here.

Check back once in a while if you're curious, but we're not planning on any dramatic shifts in how we handle things.

Questions or Concerns?

Look, if any of this is confusing or you've got specific questions about your privacy, just reach out. We're at the shop most days, and we'd rather have a five-minute conversation than have you worrying about this stuff.
